Hey guys, just wanted to give you an update and let you know some exciting news about the album, which is currently being mixed and mastered by Grammy award-winning S. Husky Höskulds (Meshell Ndegeocello, Norah Jones) over in LA.
My beautiful friend Vincent Fantauzzo is painting me for the cover! Vincent is ridiculously (outrageously!) talented - you might remember his famous portrait of Heath Ledger which won the Archibald People's Choice Award. Anyway I'm feeling pretty damn lucky with all the amazing people working on my album, who do I think i am?! Haha. I can't wait for you all to hear it!

Hey guys, I'm in LA at the moment recording my album with David Ryan Harris. He's an amazing musician, singer, songwriter and producer and I am so excited to show you all what we've come up with! I've also had a whole host of other ridiculously talented musicians play on the album; I've basically stolen John Mayer's touring band temporarily :) The album will be released next year, featuring all the songs I've recently recorded live for you guys plus a bunch of new ones you haven't heard yet... 'KNOCK YOU OUT' WINS GRAND PRIZE IN 2011 JOHN LENNON INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING CONTEST!

Hey guys! Woke up to an email saying Knock You Out has won the grand prize in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for the rhythm and blues section. Wow! What made it even more exciting is that one of the judges was Motown legend Lamont Dozier, one of my idols. I've always been inspired by the amazing music that came out of that era, so that was especially cool for me. I wrote the song with Beau Golden, and I am heading into the studio to record it (and the rest of my album) in late October. For now though check out the live version (with my full 10 piece band) below!
